yes there is. if you go to your map the places that are not yellow are places you havnt been to yet so there might be crystals there. Another way to find crystals is to get the map-o-matic which tells you where all the sewer crystals are on your map and where any secret sewers are on your map. Another thing you should know though is that you need the magnet boots to get to a lot of the secret sewers.
